A serpent slithered up the spine
forming clots of energy and hope
She prayed night and day to the shrine
unaware of how she might cope
Deep within she searched for love
everlasting, pure and whole
Upon the wings of a white-tailed dove
she rose to find her goal
Up above the world they flew
her spirit finally free
And in her heart the feeling grew
a mixture of despair and glee
How would she find the curethe solution to the world's woe
From within came allure
only a chosen few would know.
